Neutron imaging is a technique used to capture objects encased by a dense material that a normal X-ray or CT scan may not be able see. This technique is particularly useful for non-destructive testing of large mechanical parts, such as car or airplane components when it is critical to check safety without greatly affecting the object. The neutrons will penetrate the surface of the subject and provide a look into what may have otherwise been invisible.
